The True Diagonal, also known as The Line, is a line that heads southeast from Spam Central at a horizontal offset of 11 X units. It goes for 195 X units and 364 Y units until reaching Shabby Towne, where 142 people have updated the town population counter (As of September 2018). The ultimate goal of the line was to guide people Shabby Towne, but it continues for another 1300 Y units until reaching the developing city of The Great Unexplored at X:844 Y:-1664. Only 25 (known) people have made it there. After that, the line continues for thousands of extra Y units with no particular destination. It is said that reaching the end of The Line gives one infinite wisdom, but this is a myth spread by an unknown source who says this multiple times during the journey (and in fact gave The True Diagonal its name).
The Line contains many structures along it, including stores, hotels, multiple American states, and many miscellaneous drawings. The majority of these lie before Shabby Towne; the path afterwards to The Great Unexplored is mostly barren, and beyond is almost completely empty.

The "end" of the diagonal[]
At 5000, -10000 there is a large gap in the great diagonal to make space for a speech written originally at the end of the line in /msernst. Less than 10 people have reached this monument as of June 2023.
The final few thousand units of the line before this monument was constructed almost entirely by the user "The Goosh." After this monument, the line continues.
